Welcome to the next week of PLÜTA MUSIC.
Today we’re going to dive into music from a specific artist, a legend in the electronic dance music scene, who recently celebrated his 25th anniversary on stage, Canadian music producer and DJ, Joel Zimmerman, known as deadmau5.
It’s not just the anniversary that inspired this week’s playlist, but the release of a new single by deadmau5.
He’s back to his signature sounds from the early years of his production. Play:
Quezacotl - deadmau5: New release from this week. Deadmau5’s kick. Deadmau5’s synthesizers playing deadmau5’s chord progressions and melodies. Seven minutes of pure deadmau5.
Ghosts ’n’ Stuff - deadmau5, Rob Swire: One of his most recognisable tracks from 2009. A festivals finisher.
Ice Age - How To Destroy Angels, deadmau5: Remix from deadmau5 of How to Destroy Angels (including Trent Reznor and his wife, Mariqueen Maandig, on the vocals) - song from 2012. Slower than usual EDM songs - basically not for dancing. Electronic effects combined with acoustic sounds give a warm character to the track.
Strobe and I Remember - deadmau5 and deadmau5, Kaskade: Extended versions of two classics, around 10 minutes each. “I Remember” was one of the first collaborations between deadmau5 and Kaskade - duo that produced an album in 2023 under the name Kx5. You’ll definitely hear more about them in the coming weeks.
Enjoy,
PLÜTA
